Sam's birthday

We spent last Saturday morning(4-19) doing the Walk For Life. We walked two hours at city park and raised money for the Crisis Pregnancy Center in town. Our church had about 15 walkers in all.

Here's Autumn walking. I promised her a doughnut when we were done. I figured we needed to put back the calories we'd burned up on the walk.



Sam went to Worlds of Fun and Mid America Extreme last week. We told him whatever he did to stay off the rollercoasters since he always throws up on such rides. He told us he did stay off rollercoasters but got on the ride where you're spinning so fast the bottom drops off and it holds you up. He said when he got off that he felt awful. That's one ride that JM and I will NEVER go on because of the "sick factor". Sam didn't throw up, but felt yucky for awhile afterwards.

Thursday was Sam's 13th birthday. We ordered him a nice tennis racquet, which has yet to come in. Also got him tennis balls, chapstick, and little samples of AX, which he loves to spray everywhere.


I made him this red velvet cake. I rarely make cakes, so was rather proud of this accomplishment.







Saturday morning (4-26)we had church work day. I washed walls and painted stripes on the parking lot. Sam helped sand a few things, and carred stuff to the dumpster. Autumn applied stain to boards and a few other things. JM did stuff too, but I was too busy to keep track of what he did.

I went to one of Sam's games Friday in Junction City. It was an all day tennis event. He played doubles the whole time. He won half and lost the other half. He didn't want me taking pictures, so I had to do every thing at a distance. It was a cold and windy day, so I stayed in the car to watch. Sam is the one with the black hood.

Some entertaining things we've done lately. I saw the musical "The Fantasticks" Saturday evening with a friend. It has the song "Try to Remember the kind of September" in it. So pretty. It's actually a comical musical. I'd never seen it, and thought it was really....fantastic!

Saw Nim's Island movie with Autumn. Sam went with...a friend...and saw Forbidden Kingdom at the same time. Nim's Island stars Jodi Foster and was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
