Before and After the Feast

Thanksgiving prep...
There won't be many picture of Sam on this since he didn't want to help. He did make some bread, but I was making it too, so no one took a picture.

John Mark is adamant about not playing Christmas music until Thanksgiving is over. However on Thanksgiving Eve, Autumn and I snuck some in since he was no longer in the kitchen. It set Autumn off dancing.

I can't help but take pictures of food that took the longest to prepare. Here are four loaves of the bread

For the Thanksgiving meal I prepared...ham, turkey, stuffing (The Hatcliff way plus celery and apples), mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, steamed mixed vegetables, cranberry salad (made by JM), apple pie, and pumpkin pie.

We had the kids read a Thanksgiving poem before we ate.

Our Christmas tree. Jenny, that's Abigail's old dress she has on.

Last Sunday night at the church we had a sad farewell for the Li family, the same ones who were at our house for Thanksgiving.

Little Jerrick. I'm convinced this kid already has an IQ of 150.

Other things from our week...
It has turned really cold here. We've had snow, but nothing that stuck. If it were to snow today, we'd definitely be seeing some stuck to the ground.
Autumn had her band concert. A few selections are on the same miltongoinshome site on Youtube, if you want to see them.

Friday morning I had some old friends over from the Mom's Club. We were friends when our kids were really little, but haven't been together for probably over 6 years. Every once in a while we run into each other at the grocery or Walmart. I still spend a lot of time with Carina, as you may recognize her. But the other three I rarely see for any length of time. So I had a tea at my house and fixed some great sour cream coffee cake and a fruit salad.

And one with me in it.

Next week....a picture of our Jesse Tree at church. Everyone should have a Jesse Tree!

O wow the food looks great! I'm really envious of the homemade bread. I'd be interested to know what kind of dressing the Hatcliff's make. I bet it's good.
Have you heard from the family that left?

No, we've not yet heard from them.

The Hatcliff dressing is pretty simple. Ha! It's just Stove Top stuffing and I added apples and celery. You cant beat that!

I'd like to try that. I've heard of raisins in stuffing and I've had pineapple stuffing which is just great.
