Autumn went trick-or-treating with some friends. Here is one of our friend's dog, Lucky. He is a bumble bee, if you can't tell.

Kennady, Megan, Autumn. We're still not sure what Autumn was, but look at that wig. What a great head of hair! She found the stick and wound ivy around it. Then she put on wings and a $5 outfit from Walmart (part of it was missing). She was going to be an artist, but the night before changed her mind and became...whatever she was.

Kennady's parents were out of town, so she stayed with us that weekend. Autumn invited her to church back in March and she and her little brother have come to church pretty much every Sunday since then.

Our famous beautiful tree was not as pretty this year. Not sure why because it's been a cold fall and plenty of moisture.

Autumn Leaf. Right now there are hardly any leaves left and it's looking like winter.

This is our linden tree. It was actually prettier than usual.

We had a children's quiz at our church on Nov 15. This is a terrible picture, but this is Autumn getting her reward. She missed one question and got a gold. She said 6 memory verses that quiz. We all agreed (the people from our church that were there) that our church hosted the best quiz. Okay, we're a little biased, but really we did a good job :-) Our food was really good too. The other churches hate to come to our church because it is the furthest away. I guess they forget that we have to travel far to have it at their church. This was the first one we've hosted in 4 years.
On November 16th, our church had its harvest dinner

We usually have about 160 for this. The food is totally prepared for all by anyone who wants to help, headed up by two ladies. It's always fantastic.
Here is the desert table...

SAM participated in a quiz yesterday and placed 8th! This is his best ever! We're very proud of him! I will try to get a picture of him with his medal.
I haven't had a Swirly Swirl picture in a few months.

Each day she spends about 15 minutes of her highly busy life in the pursuit of art appreciation. Here she is admiring the Monet like impressionism of this painting.

"Hey, this is MY territory! Scat!" Our neighbor's cat, Luna, likes to come to our windows and hiss at Swirly. Swirly doesn't appreciate that one bit. The weird thing is we always think Swirly has escaped when we see Luna because the two cats look so much alike. Swirly is fatter and prettier, of course.

Practicing to play for Sunday night service. Autumn, Yunmei, and Sam do this once a month with JM.

Trying to look as board as possible.

Well, that's it for now. I have to go to bed so I can get up early tomorrow to take Sam to school and then drive to Topeka. We are all nursing colds (except Autumn) and I don't want him to have to walk to his stop. JM has ceiling tiles he wants me to pick up at Lowe's tomorrow, so I am off to the capital city to Christmas shop and get the tiles.
Our Thanksgiving plans will include having the Chinese Li family over. Till then................

You covered your activities well this time. All the members of the household represented, including THAT CAT.

I think the cat is thinking about what outdoors use to be like. Jen
