games, cooking, parties

We have had very cold (for us) weather this week. Two days ago, our high was 65. Yesterday it was 72. Today our high is in mid 50's. We've had our jackets and jeans on and have down right shivered. The AC is off and the windows are opened!

Back in July, JM had to opportunity to try crappachino (slang). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak (Sorry, I can't make it link. But it can be cut/paste to find the link)
In short, a little animal in Indonesia eats coffee beans, digests it, and well, it later comes out of the intestines. It's suppose to be less acidic. His co-worker brought it back from Indonesia. This coffee is EXTREMELY expensive. It's basically like $20 a cup. You couldn't pay me to try it, but JM did. He thought it was okay, but certainly not worth $20 a cup. He was able to bring it home and the kids were able to taste it as well. Here is JM trying it.

JM and Sam went to the K-State game last Saturday. We played North Texas (non-conference) and beat them something like 46-6.

Sam decided to make Cowboy Coffee Cake for the second week in a row. He did the entire thing by himself. Here he is with finished product.

We went to a 5 year old's birthday party last week. His big sister is in Autumn's class at school and now she and this little brother go to our church. His dad is in the Army and I thought his cake was great. It's actually CUPCAKES with tons of icing on it to appear as one scene.

Here she is looking like Nastacia

She continues to do well on the trumpet. In this picture she is playing "Angels We have Heard On High" by ear. This is not staged. She is actually trying to hit a high note. Cute!

Lorie -those kids are beautiful.

Sam is slowly getting the anger thing down-it's hard for an adolescent to manufacture that kind of anger, but he does it well. Rockin Roll Sam, Rockin Roll. (Lorie, i secretly thank God on a daily basis that i hve no kids to raise...i don't know how parents do it--hang in there).
