JM gone, wind, camping

Quick update...
John Mark has been in Finland all week. On Saturday he flew over to Bath, England. We've been able to SKYPE some so that has been nice.
Friday I took the kids to the all church camp out. Sam insisted that he have a different tent than Autumn and I so we had to set up 2 tents. A few of the men of the church helped us, otherwise I don't think I could have done it. JM was gone last camp out and I had to ask for help then as well. Next time, I really don't think I will do the camping out! The whole setting up/taking down the tent thing drives me crazy, especially when you have a husband who is so particular about how you put the tent back, and did you do any damage to it putting it up? Did you stretch the cords? Did you get all the stakes?
It is fun to be with the church people though. You learn a little more about them when you're in close quarters like that. We learned that one guy can do a great imitation of Forest Gump. He even quoted "Footprints in the Sand" with a Forest Gump voice and it was hilarious! The kids enjoyed fishing and swimming as well as making crafts and eating.
Tonight we have a friend of Sam's staying with us. I think I'll go to bed early though as I'm exhausted!
Some pictures from the weekend....Believe it or not, Sam got his hair cut this week and yes, it's cut in the picture you see of him. Paid $22 for that...

Here's a FYI bit concerning Sam's Sunday School teacher. Danielle (Dani) McNaney (yes, it rhymes) has been teaching Sam's class for the past 18 months. She is a wonderful person and I'm so glad she's his teacher. She is quite the athlete and is trying to qualify for the U.S. Olympic track and field team. I think this week was her last try to qualify. She specifically competes in the Heptathalon. She is SO physially fit! Besides getting her masters in Math Education, she trains six hours a day. She eats no sweets except allows her self some on Saturdays. Her legs and arms are perfectly sculpted. She is a wonderful Christian and such a good all around person. Anyway, I thought I would post some pictures of her during some meets. I got these off the internet, as we've not been able to personally see her compete.

We've had many storms this week with really high winds. They shook the house worse than Ft. Riley does. Here, a branch has fallen on the clubhouse.

And, of course, the baby...

When will that girl know if she's made the olympics? How old is she and would she be a good match for you know who?

I think the final try out is next weekend. She is 25; too young for you know who.
