STORMY WEATHER

So much rain! Storm after storm! Lots of flooding. Some couldn't even get to church on Sunday....train derailments, evacuations etc..and of course, our carpeted basement has wet spots. Sigh...

I didn't take this picture, but it was in the newspaper. It was taken a week ago before things started to get worse.

The kids went out to Tuttle Cr. State Park on Friday evening with a few other kids from church. It was muddy, but they had a good time.

This is a blurry picture, but I thought you could see Sam's new haircut in it. Big improvement, but of course, he doesn't think so.

My friend June took these pictures, and I changed the coloring on them after she emailed them to me.

Remodeling...we looked at light fixtures for the living room. We are getting several halogen bulbs that go right in the ceiling (I'm drawing a blank as to what their called) all through the living room. Our interior dec. picked out a chandelier for our dining room area, and we were not crazy about it because we thought it looked too formal, even though we're going for the formal look. We just don't see this house that fancy. I took some pictures, but they're kind of hard to tell as there are lamps all over the place and you don't know where one starts and where one ends. You'll have to look closely.

This is what she picked out for the dining room table...

Another view of the same one

This is what we're thinking about for over the dining room table

Another view of the same one we like

This is what we all agreed on for over the landing that goes out to the patio

This is one she picked out for our entry way. We thought it was okay, but we also liked..

This one for our entry way (mother of pearl). In the end, we may just keep what we have for the entry way, as it's not too bad.

I liked this one for a piano light. I guess we really like that burnished bronze look.

Please let me know your opinions. I'm going back and forth on the dining room one.

I visited one of the int. decorator's homes and it was amazingly beautiful. It's just a small 100 year old house. I told her it should be in a magazine and she said she was in Better Homes & Garden a couple years ago when she lived in Leavenworth. I thought that was pretty neat.

Definitely like the chand you picked out better. Her's was too dressy.
The flat light I could go either way. I think maybe the one that gives
the most light is best. You don't want a dingy entrance. I couldn't
tell which one that would be. How tall are your ceilings?

I would not go with her light. I like a plainer but dressy look. Her's would go out of style in a couple of weeks. I think she picked it out to go with your couch you like, because it is really dressy, if you go with that couch. ( I like the couch) Also, I do like your light you picked out. I thin the outside light is fine with what you picked out. I have a one that has a black outline on it and I swear no one sees it because no one looks up to notice it. I can't remember if your front porch, anyone would see it. But I would definately ask her opinion on it. Okay, that' all I got to say

The last comment was from Julie. Also, now that I think of it. The outside light is really not that big of deal. So if the price is no different, I would go with hers so you don't have to worry about it. ha

None of them are outside lights. I think you are confusing the entryway light with an outside light. It's' actually inside.
I'm thinking more and more of not getting a new one in the entry way. It's not so bad--what we already have.
