November

Autumn has taught herself to knit. She got a new coat last month, so bought some yarn to make herself a scarf. Here she is measuring how much she'll have to knit.

We let the kids work anyway they want, as long as they work. This is true, even if it involves bare feet:

Before we ate our Thanksgiving meal, we read William Bradford's proclamation for the first Thanksgiving in 1693. This is the same one I put on FB a few weeks ago. We got a kick out of reading it before the meal. Ready to sit down...

I taught Sunday School to Middlers last week and did the parable of the different soils. I brought in thorns, rocks, parsley, and coriander seeds and little people to illustrate the story. They had us reading a story about a farmer and his grandson talking about the parable. I had JM and "A" read record the stories on GARAGE BAND and had birds tweeting in the background. Then I acted out the story with the little people. It was a big hit.

Our house was painted a sage color last month. Here it is in different lights.

The door used to be a coral color. Now it's a dark burgundy color. I can't remember the exact name.

It looks really different depending on the time of day.

Last week we decorated the church and had our Advent service. Before the service, one of the teen girls wanted to make "S"'s hair look pretty. Here are the results.

I will have to share what we did for the Advent service on another post. JM has the pics for that one.

I did not recognize Sam. I thought,"why is that picture on there?"
