Last days of school...

The kids got out on the 22nd. Here are a few pics from their last days of school.

Autumn's last day of school with her teacher Mr. G__.

The woman who has been principal of our kids for all their school life retired this year. They had a surprise goodbye assembly for her where all the classes did different stuff. Autumn's class all dressed as they wanted. They each presented the principal with a different gift of whatever they wanted. Autumn put on her Indian costume and wrote that she was a "Native Indian from a cloud" and presented her with a flower.

I've posted a few of the things that were done that day on Youtube and it will be there for a few days for you to view.
Milton Goins Home at YouTube

An explanation of the videos...
5th Grade Percussion...the principal is a percussionist so there were a few percussion specials. Watch the Indian girl in the back right. She plays that only part and it's the low melody. Watch how those arms move!
Irish Blessing...this song is traditionally sung by the Roosevelt School Choir. They didn't get to practice together, but did an okay job. Aut. is on the far left in back. You can just see her nose. The principal is in red sitting in a chair in front of them (blowing her nose and using lots of tissues).
Roosevelt Alma Mater Anthem....this is the school song where all the kids sing at every assembly. Words are...
O Roosevelt's the place to go
Of all the schools that we may know.
It's where we work and where we play.
And where we're happy all the day.
To our school, we will be true
O Roosevelt, we'll stand for you.
O Roosevelt's the place to go
Of all the schools that we may know.

Sam graduated from 8th grade. Pictures are blurry with the lighting I had to work with.

Here's a group shot too. There are two middle schools in town, so his actual graduating class of 2013 will be double this plus more.

Also included on the Youtube site is the Eisenhower Fight song from his school.
Words are...

Ike's Eagles
Eisenhower School Song

Show off your spirit for Eisenhower
Stand up and show your pride!
Eagles fly high, rech ofr the sky.
We are a force as strong as the roaring tide.
Show off your spirit for Eisenhower.
Heres where the greatest Eagle's soar!
Stand up and cheer (Go silver!)
Eagles are here (Go green!)
Stand up for Eisenhower (go team!)
