Cooper-Goins Reunion 2008

We had a great time at the reunion. It took us about 14 hours to drive there, which wasn't too pleasant. We took it in two days.

The kids enjoyed horse back riding on Friday, while Mom, Jen, Julie, and me visted cemeteries. We enjoyed the karaoke on Friday night.

Saturday we put on our yellow reunion shirts and headed out to our great-uncle Billy's house, formerly where my grandmother & her 9 siblings grew up. Once there, we were divided into several different teams to compete for the Family Cup. This included horse shoes, washers, corn hole, trivia, and baccie (sp?) ball. We also had a fantastic time on 4-wheelers and golf carts.

That evening we enjoyed a nice banquet meal with 100+ relatives. For entertainment, there was an area to dress up and come out with a song acting out your part. Autumn came out as a sock-hop girl with the song Twist and Shout. Dan, Brian, Josh, and Zac performed a rousing rendition of YMCA dressed up as Village People. There were many others, who I didn't get pictures of. We also had a good sing-a-long time with Uncle Darrell and JM on instruments.

Fortunately, for two nights we did get a glimpse of the moonbow...the only place in the western hemisphere to have one.

I got a video to download on here of the flute player that was walking back and forth along the river playing his songs.

Here is a link to two photo albums of the pictures we took. Click on this picture, then the first picture to ENLARGE and go to the next. I've made comments under many of the photos describing who is who etc...
