Last Sunday night we had a baptismal service at Living Water Ranch (16 miles from Manhattan), then a swim party afterwards. We had about 100 people there. This was like the Bible School finale/party. We had 9 children, two adults, and one teenager baptized.
The pool was shaped like a dove
Autumn got baptized
You could walk deep into the woods of the property...
And come to this slide that was fed by a spring in the hill. Here's Sam...
Autumn at the landing. I think they said it was a 100 foot slide
Swimming in the pool after the baptismal service
This place was really pretty. Kind of a retreat center.
It was right next to Tuttle Creek
We started school on Wednesday
Autumn getting ready to go. She has a sinus infection and I took her to the dr today who prescribed antibiotics. I think you can tell she's not feeling great in this picture. Her teacher is Mr Gelroth who is in his 17th year of teaching. They have a class website updated weekly. I'm going to try to post the class link on the right side of this blog.
There's already a class picture on there from the first day.
Sam has been excited about school this week. Of course, we had the usual buying splurge of buying AXE product and other smelly good things. Some of his AXE has been taken to school for the locker room, but other products include...
You can be sure, he smells like a man!
The day after school started the kids and I were sitting in the living room talking and one of them spotted a family of 6 racoons running across the backyard. By the time I got the camera, only the last one was scampering across the patio
YUCK! I hate those things!

That looks like such a nice place and I LOVE the pool! The slide looks like so much fun.

I don't know how many times Emily has a cold or some type of bug on the first day of school. What a drag!

The disease or cold that kids get on the 1st day of school is called "alphadayitis non real"...there was an article in Newsweek about it this week. The article was fascinating.
The article pointed out how kids magically get sick the first day of school.

Well then she magically had mucus coming out of her nose big time. She's on Amoxicillin for the next 14 days.
I have to admit I had alphadayitis every day of my school years until college.
Lorie-i made up the name (alphadayitis non real)...i wanted it to appear like a combination of latin and spanish.
Alpha -meaning the beginning
Day -meaning ....day
Non- meaning no ot not
Real -meaning real...hopefully you would pronounce it with an emphasis on the 1st part of the word re-AL.
Looking back at the post and the content-I'm an idiot:)
I have too much time on my hands:)

It sounds pretty intellectual to me. And that's all that counts.
