Finally got more pictures!

We had an average Sunday at church. In the late afternoon our 40 Days of Community small group went to a nursing home and sang. Autumn and another 6th grade girl played their violins. The kids then played the bells (with 3 other kids). Then JM played some old time non-religious songs. I think they really enjoyed that. Most were pretty out of it. But we've decided to do it again next month.

For Bible study we are beginning another That the World May Know Series, "Faith Lessons on the Life and Times of the Messiah". These are so good, I wish we'd do them year round.

Sam won a fish in Sunday School. He's named him Robob. Not sure where he came up with that name. We had a tiny amount of food to get him through Sunday. I was out and around and realized I forgot to get more food. Hopefully, Robob is not belly up from starvation in the morning.

Tomorrow Sam is 12 years old! I can't believe he's that old, but when I think about how long ago it was when we were in Denmark, it really does seem like 12 years. Well, actually it's been 11 since we were there. When I think of his early days I can only think of pure exhaustion. No wonder my hair started turning grey there.

Sam is getting a DS game and a scooter tomorrow. He keeps thinking we forgot to get him this certain DS game that went on sale on Sunday. He hasn't stopped whining for 2 days that this game will be all sold out if we don't get it. We actually got it on Sunday, but he doesn't have any idea we did.

We've searched the entire town looking for the Wii. No luck! They only get 2 or 3 every few weeks, and those are usually gone within 1/2 hour. Every day we make phone calls to the local stores. Not sure that does any good because by the time we'd arrive at the store they'd be gone. No one will carry a waiting list, and they said if they did, we'd be #600, so it's better that they don't!

The adults who Sam spent the weekend at the lake with told us that Sam was the most polite good natured child. We couldn't believe it. "Sam?" I asked when they told me that. I thought they might have meant another one of the boys. Why can't he be like that at home???

Autumn and I have been enjoying Anne of Green Gables. We watched it several years ago, but she was too young to follow the story line. She got a kick out of Diana Berry getting drunk on the eldeberry wine tonight.

We just finished reading the book "Schoolroom in the Parlor" by Rebecca Caudill. Doesn't that sound like a Lorie book!!! Fortunately, Autumn enjoyed it and thought it was really good. Mom, you take note of the author's last name, and guess what? She was from Harlan, KY!--same area as our Caudills, sort of.

Autumn just finished reading 100+ pages of "Nikki" the American Girl book. I think it's the longest book she's ever read, and I was so happy to see her read something on her own. That doesn't happen nearly enough. I hope this begins a trend.
